Chester succumbed to a disappointing one point defeat at Hare Lane on Saturday, allowing the visitors to secure only their second away win of the season. The home side did well to fight back from 12-22 down in the second half to lead 26-22 and may well feel a little aggrieved at the awarding of what turned out to be the winning score on 78 minutes as it didn't appear clear the ball was grounded as Hornets drove over the line. The sides shared 8 tries with the home scores coming from skipper Harry Craven (pictured), after good work from Kyle Joseph, Sam Rogers, Louis Beer and Harrison Vare. With full-back Morgan Bagshaw yellow carded and no recognised kicker left on the field, replacement James Hampson took responsibility for the the last kick of the match to win the game, but his attempt sailed narrowly wide.
