Welcome to our Centenary season together with all the exciting events planned for the
rest of the year. The season has already got off to a good start both on and off the pitch. It's wonderful to be back in the Northern Division, playing Clubs we know well and with whom we've forged friendships in the past. The first XV have had a good win up at Preston, followed by three tough games against Lymm, Hull and Fylde, and then an excellent victory against Sheffield Tigers last Saturday. The 2nd's, 3rd's and Devas have had similar starts winning and losing games. I'm certain as the season progresses and new players get to know each other, adapting to new coaching, results will continue improve. Mention must also be made of the VP's resplendent in their Centenary Jackets.
The Club's facilities continue to improve. The refurbished 1st XV changing room gives a more professional feel. Thanks to Peter Simcock and his team for their hard work. The work and enthusiasm of the bar and catering staff continues to impress.
Personally, I'm looking forward tremendously to being your President for another season. I had a great time last season travelling with the first team to the deep southwest. Going to new venues only sought to confirm what a great set up we have at Chester. All the new Clubs who came to Hare Lane were well impressed, hoping we'd stay in the West so they could come again! I wish all our teams a successful and enjoyable season.
Lastly thank you for your continuing support, it means a great deal to me.
