I was asked three weeks ago to give you a progress update on the season so far. I wish I had provided one then, as I wouldn’t have needed to include our recent disappointing results. But as it stands we have played 10, having won 5 and lost 5.

We now sit ninth in the league table, having scored 265 points which is the 9th most on the league and have conceded 262 which is the 4th best on the league table. So, there is no rocket scientist needed here to see that we have to be more clinical in our attack and get across the try line on a more regular occasion if we want to compete higher up the league table.

Ten games into National 2 West it's clear that we are more than capable of competing in the league. The travel has not been bad at all and we have had some good away journeys so far which are certainly no worse than any trip we used to do in the northern league.

Both coaches, Guy Ford, who was with us last year and Jack Baxter who joined us as a coach this year are both working very hard to improve the current squad and all senior players across the club. Nick Joseph's involvement has made an impact as well and taken a lot of the off-field stuff on. Phil Turnbull has only lost 1 game with the second team, while James Ferguson is doing very well with the 3rd team.

As a club our senior section is very healthy at the moment and we regularly have around 60 players at training. I don’t think there is any other club in the County that has these sorts of numbers training at their clubs.

Lastly, many thanks for your support; the crowd’s voice is definitely helping the lads and it's great to see the bar so busy after matches.
