You may have noticed the scaffolding around the club over recent weeks. To explain, the club has invested in a pretty significant set of solar panels that should materially reduce our electricity costs year on year & at the same time do our bit for the environment.
For the technicality-minded amongst you, the system comprises 97 individual solar panels & includes 4 batteries. It is expected to generate circa 43,500 kWh per year - subject to the weather, of course!
This project represents a significant investment to the club, although we have secured some material grant funding under the Cheshire West & Chester Climate Emergency Fund, which will help.
A big shout out to our own Gary Parkinson at RSK and Rory at Woodhouse (& their respective teams) for the technical modelling, design and installation of the system. It is great that club sponsors have delivered such a major project.
Here’s hoping for sunny weather all year round!
