The CRUFC Girls U12s, also known as the "Crazy Gang," might not resemble the infamous Wimbledon team of the late 80s and early 90s, but their enthusiasm and team spirit are undeniable.

Their "craziness" comes in the form of excitement, chatter, and a genuine love for rugby and their teammates. This strong team spirit is evident in how they look after each other, both on and off the pitch.
Starting the season with only six players, the U12s have grown to a fantastic sixteen! This growth is thanks to word-of-mouth recommendations and integrating players from the mini's section. The team's welcoming nature is a highlight, with new players being readily accepted and helped as they learn the ropes.
The U12s began their season by playing alongside girls from other regions at "pitch up and play" events. Their first event was at Sandal where they teamed up with Yorkshire players, showcasing their welcoming nature and earning praise from other coaches.

Playing alongside girls from Trafford and Sandbach in October, the core group of Chester players helped form a formidable team. By the new year, the U12s had grown to twelve players, finally reaching a full team size.
A visit to Helsby was a memorable day for the positive spirit. Alongside 28 girls from other clubs, they played under various conditions introduced by the referee. The Chester girls once again impressed, adapting well and demonstrating excellent teamwork.

Despite a season disrupted by weather, the U12s have consistently shown dedication in training. They even participated in the England Rugby "Play Together Stay Together" day, receiving coaching from a Sale Sharks Ladies player and watching the Devas play Eccles.

We eagerly anticipate the upcoming girls' festival in May. There's no doubt the U12s will exemplify the core values of TREDS while playing rugby in the true spirit of the game. And who knows, if they manage to find a ghetto blaster, don't be surprised to hear it pumping out some tunes!
