Welcome Everyone. I hope you’ve all enjoyed your summers, revelling in the heady mix of Lions Tests and glorious sunshine and, like me, are fired up for the season ahead. It’s no secret we are less than delighted to be moved once again to the National 2 West Division, which brings with it longer journeys and increased expense. However, we will relish the fresh challenges of playing new clubs and forging new friendships across the western side of the country.
Our first couple of 1st XV games have been tough, against Camborne and Lymm, who are both talented and very well-drilled sides. We have, though, managed to grab three valuable losing bonus points, showing spirited performances from the lads. We have a young side, and coupled with our new players, have not quite gelled yet, but I am sure will improve strongly in the coming weeks.
Our senior player section is looking strong, and I would like to extend my good wishes and luck to all our other senior teams, namely the 2nds, 3rds, and the Devas, and hope you all have successful and enjoyable seasons.
The M&J’s have been organising themselves well over the summer with lots of new initiatives, and I am sure all our squads from under 6’s to the senior colts will repeat the fabulous successes of last seasons.
Here’s to a great season for all our teams, to some quality rugby and lots of fun as we chase success together.
