Seanie Seanie Green Where do I start? Well, the simple answer is that a long, long time ago in the early 2000’s a young fresh faced man, with milk bottle skin and a distinct flash of ginger hair graced the turf at Hare Lane.
Now many moons, hundreds of teammates, a fair few coaches, and a couple of pitches later, Sean is approaching 400 games for the 1st XV. As this goes to press Sean is 5 games away from the milestone, and so all being well come the middle of February the club will come together to celebrate a true club legend.

I think Sean has played alongside at least seven men who have reached the 200 cap mark and I am sure that they will all tell you how much hard work, commitment and sacrifice it takes to reach these milestones in your playing career - but to then go and double this is on a completely different level. To be able to stay fit for this long is some achievement, but to do it playing with the commitment Sean does pays tribute to the effort he puts in away from the pitch to look after himself as well as the work he puts in on the training pitch.

It would be amiss to talk about Sean without mentioning his biggest supporters – his parents Tony and Margaret, who I’m sure you all know. They miss very few games and are always the faces you look for home or away, and you can guarantee they are by the gate to have a debrief with Sean and offer a hug to everyone else at the end of the game at Hare Lane.

I’m sure we will all as a club continue to pay tribute to Greenie as a player for a long time yet, and here is hoping he can carry on well past 400 and get the club cap record*

Well played Sean
