Chester Rugby Club golf tournament - Sally Parkinson rewrites the record books

Sunday saw the 74th playing of the annual David Evans Memorial Rose Bowl Golf tournament. After a long association with Chester Golf Club, and a brief sojourn at Priors Hayes, the competition was held for the first time at Eaton Golf Club. The moved proved fortuitous for Sally Parkinson who became the first female member of Chester Rugby Club to win the historic trophy. 37 points was enough to hold off the challenge of runner-up Terry Allen and third placed Ian Batch.
To complete a great day for the ladies, Barbara Craven took home the Mike Lord trophy awarded to the highest aggregate of Stableford points score plus half your age.

The Rose Bowl was donated to the club by the parents of club member Lt. David Evans who was killed in action in 1944. First played for in 1947, it embodies the history and tradition of CRUFC and next year, the 75th playing, is bound to be a popular event.
Numbers are limited and to express your interest in playing please email Tim Carty in the first instance.
